Photo and Video Requests

On-campus organizations can request photo and/or video assistance by filling out the Marketing & Communications Work Request Form. Filling out the form does not guarantee coverage, but we will do all we can to help.

Aquinas Photo Library

The college maintains an archive of photos that can be browsed and searched. (It's commonly called Photoshelter.) If you have permission, you can download images. Not all images are visible to all users. For questions and/or increased access, please contact marketing@c178.net. For usage information, see the section on Photos Usage Rights.

Photography Permits and Policies

Aquinas has a beautiful campus, and it's often the backdrop for professional-grade photos and videos. Please check out the campus photography policy to get started.

Photo Usage Rights

All photographs and video taken by the Aquinas College Marketing and Communications Department or outside photographers hired to photograph for Aquinas College photo and video shoots or events remain the property of Aquinas College. Aquinas shall have the irrevocable, non-exclusive right to exercise any and all rights granted by the United States Copyright Act, including, but not limited to, the right to reproduce, display, distribute, and transmit the Work throughout the world, in any media now known or later developed, and to create derivative works.

Photo Releases

Photos and video taken in public places, for purposes of news or general information, do not require photo releases. Photos and video used to advertise products or services of the university may not require releases when the focus of the photo or video is a location or event, not a person.

When an individual's face is featured in a way that is clearly recognizable and appears to endorse Aquinas College, the best practice is to obtain a signed release from the Marketing and Communications Department. Staff may obtain and store releases over and above these guidelines if they feel it is in their best interest.

Internet Photos and Video

You should not assume that photos and video found on the internet (including those indexed by Google Images) are free to use. Do not use Aquinas College photos and video found on the Internet unless you have received permission from Aquinas College.

Photo Requests from Outside the College

External media outlets, businesses and others who request permission to use Aquinas College photos and video may do by requesting permission from the Aquinas College Marketing and Communications Department. Aquinas College photography and video is the property of Aquinas College and should be credited with the college name as shown:
