Dean's Welcome
Welcome to the Division of Natural Sciences, Nursing, and Math at Aquinas College. We invite you to come visit us in our new, state-of-the-art science facility, named The Albertus Magnus Hall of Science after the great Dominican priest and saint-scientist St. Albert the Great. Here, you can study the full spectrum of sciences, including majors and minors in Biology, Health Science, Nursing, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Mathematics, Geography, and Environmental Studies.
Our new, expanded science building is a beautiful testament to the integrated, holistic approach to the sciences that you will discover if you decide to study science here. For at a Catholic liberal arts college like Aquinas, where we hold a special dedication to the pursuit of truth and the common good, the sciences hold a special place. The spacious student spaces, classrooms and state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories are welcoming and especially conducive to study and collaboration. Like the rest of the college, we have a strong sense of community and of supporting our students into realizing their greatest potential – not only as students, but also as human persons.
What does an Aquinas College science graduate look like? Through independent research, laboratory experiences, and one-on-one mentoring from our dedicated faculty, science graduates from Aquinas College are prepared for a variety of professions from theoretical to applied. They earn acceptance to medical school nearly 20% more often than the national average. They are also employed at many leading companies in the country, working to tackle the challenges and problems facing the 21st century. Not only are Aquinas graduates distinguished by their top-notch science education, but they also shine in being caring, ethical leaders, well equipped to serve others in a complex multi-cultural world.
As a college, we also take our responsibility to care for creation and there are opportunities to participate in our campus Sustainability Initiative, which is housed in the science building.
We are committed to helping you realize your God-given potential and make a difference
in the world through your study of the sciences. Please feel free to contact us and
arrange a visit at http://k9ve.c178.net/admissions. I look forward to meeting you!
